Phonogrammarchiv (Austrian Audiovisual Research Archive of the Austrian Academy of Sciences)Category: Audio-visual documents The Phonogrammarchiv of the Austrian Academy of Sciences is Austria's scientific audio-visual archive. The archive has specialised in the scientific digitisation of audio and video recordings.
Since 2000, all new entries have been archived in digital form; the digitisation of video recordings commenced in 2001. Currently, only analogue objects from 1899-1950 are digitised retrospectively.
The main focus of the collection is recordings in the fields of ethnology, ethno-musicology, linguistics, and bio-acoustics. Language: Multilingual Access: restricted (access for scientific reasons) Size: approx. 60,000 objects (approx. 8,100 hours) Standards: IASA TC 03; for analogue material: wav file (96 kHz, 24 bit); for digital original material (R-dat): wav files in original resolution (mainly 48 kHz, 16 bit) Legal status: Non-profit Target audience(s): Scientific community
